The father of the late Humphrey Mayanja has lamented about the rate at which his children are dying. Humphrey, 49, who succumbed to cancer on March 30, is the brother of singer Jose Chameleone. Their younger brother, AK 47, died in 2015.

"I am becoming weak now over the loss of my children. The first to die was AK47, my last born child and now the elder. I do not know who is next. I don’t know what’s happening to us. Humphrey died in pain. We did everything, but God decided for him to die," Gerald Mayanja said on March 31, 2024 during his speech at the vigil held at Humphrey's home in Kigo on Entebbe Road.

Gerald was accompanied by singer/politician Bobi Wine at the vigil.

Many people, including singers Eddy Kenzo and Sheebah, as well as Bebe Cool and his wife Zuena, went to condole with the bereaved family.

Humphrey is scheduled to be buried on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Kalangalo, Singo in Mityana.
