Uganda Taekwondo Federation (UTF) has named four athletes to represent the country at the African Games taking place in Accra, Ghana.

Teams from Uganda have been departing in phases for the games and the taekwondo team is scheduled to depart today aboard the Ethiopian Airlines.

The all-male team was trimmed from 16 male and female athletes that UTF had named for Ghana and have been undergoing training at CSCA Gym in Kisugu for the last 2 months.

The players have also been under the guidance of a master taekwondo trainer, Kim Kwangjoo from Korea.

"I have been polishing the players and they are good to go," noted Kwangjoo.

The coach at CSCA Club, Karim Mulwana will travel with the team to Ghana.

The team has Cranmer Wokurwoth, Christopher Mugweri, Oswaldo Ocira (all from the Police), and Emmanuel Hahumi from the CSCA Club.

Close to 40 countries are expected to field teams of taekwondo for the Accra games.
