This will go down as one of the best kept celebrity secrets.

News filtering in indicates that Ugandan crooner Maurice Kirya and Dutch wife Lisa Gceverbeek split during the COVID-19 lockdown, but kept the news under wraps.

The couple that moved to Netherlands two years ago, shares a daughter.  Whereas they are no longer a power couple, they are still super parents.

Kirya took to Twitter to reveal the news.

"It has already been a year since we mutually separated. We’ve learned how to co-parent and are doing a great job at it. Our friendship will always remain, as will the undeniable bond we have as parents to our dear daughter,” he wrote.

Some people suggested Kirya has not overcome the split; he is using subtle ways to attract his ex-wife back.

“If kwetega was a person,” a one God’s fav responded.

For Wilfred Ssenyange, Kirya’s tweet did not make sense. “But why not just get back together?? I don't understand how you keep loving a person you separated with.”

A few years ago, Kirya was involved with Jemimah, the daughter of Pastor Michael Kyazze of Omega Healing Centre on Entebbe Road, but the relationship developed cracks due to claims of infidelity and non-commitment.
