MPs have expressed concern over delayed response to fire outbreaks by the Police Fire Brigade.

Raising the issue as a matter of national importance, Lubaga South MP Aloysius Mukasa said there is a continued slow response to fire outbreaks by the Police.

This follows a fire outbreak in Ndeeba that left plenty of property destroyed.

"How do you explain the preference of more tear gas per capita than fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment? Do we have our priorities right? Matthias Mpuuga the leader of opposition in Parliament said.

"Do you need to have a PHD in urban planning to know that where you have a timber market it is a fire prone area and it should have access to fire hydrants?" he asked.
