Kyagulanyi at EC for meeting over guidelines violation

National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi on Tuesday morning reported to Electoral Commission (EC) in Kampala to respond to allegations of violating campaign guidelines.

Kyagulanyi arrived at EC offices at 9:20 am accompanied by NUP deputy president for central region Mathias Mpuuga, secretary general Lewis Lubongoya, Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake, party spokesperson Joel Senyonyi and his counsel Medard Ssegona among others.

This after the commission on Monday insisted on meeting Kyagulanyi today at 9:00 am before he heads to Western Uganda for campaigns.

EC chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama on December 10 summoned him over the breach of election guidelines and the standard operating procedures aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19.

Byabakama summoned Kyagulanyi to appear before the commission on Monday at 10:00 am but he did not appear and sent a team to represent him with written submissions which the commission rejected.
