FDC'S Amuriat resumes campaigns

Amuriat said he would continue his campaign trail as he awaits the final decision from the top party leadership in Najjanankumbi, Kampala.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential candidate, Patrick Amuriat Oboi decided to resume his campaigns on Thursday. 

Amuriat said he would continue his campaign trail as he awaits the final decision from the top party leadership in Najjanankumbi, Kampala. 

He made his first stopover at Koch Goma trading center in Nwoya district. Amuriat later proceeded to Onaka town council in Nwoya district where Police had tried to block him.

Earlier, Amuriat said that he would suspend or withdraw from the presidential race if government continued to use security operatives to frustrate their campaigns.



On Wednesday, the opposition candidate was arrested and later released. Aswa Regional Police Commander, Ezekiel Emitu said  Amuriat had been released on bail.

National Unity Platform Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi was also arrested Wednesday and is currently detained at Nalufenya police station.
