Ssegirinya arrested in Jinja

Kawempe South County Parliamentary aspirant Muhammed Ssegirinya who is also a Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) councilor was on Thursday morning arrested in Jinja by security operatives and taken to Nalufenya. 

The New Vision has leant that plain-clothed security personnel picked Ssegirinya also popularly known as Mr. Update at the entrance of Nalufenya.

Details on why he was arrested remained scanty but sources noted that it was over an interview he gave to a local TV station while in Jinja.

Ssegirinya who is contesting on a National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket joins the party's Presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi who was also arrested on Wednesday in Luuka for defying the Electoral Commission guidelines.
