Senior Police officer helps woman deliver a baby

ASP Darlington Eiru, helped Vincent Abisa's wife to deliver after she got complications and called police for help.

MUKONO - A senior Police officer-in-Charge of Namanve Industrial Park Police station has saved a mother's life after helping her deliver a baby boy before rushing her to a health centre.

ASP Darlington Eiru, helped Vincent Abisa's wife to deliver after getting complications and called police to help transport her to a health centre.

"The expectant mother called police for help, the officer responded but couldn't transport her after she showed signs that she was about to deliver," the Kampala Police Metropolitan Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango said.

He added, "So the officer pulled out his gloves and attended to her until she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy."

Onyango explained that after their officer helped the mother deliver, he rushed her and the baby to the clinic where they are being taken care of.

"The mother and child are in good condition. The Uganda Police Force thank ASP Eiru for the lifesaving help he gave to the woman and child," Onyango stated, adding that it's their mandate to save life and property.
