"I have lost all my academic documents as a result of floods, and now I do not know where to begin from," said John Batalingaya, a resident of Kirumya central, in Bundibugyo district.
His comment followed the morning downpour that hit most parts of western Uganda.
In Bundibugyo, Kirumya stream burst its banks and affected close to 1,000 people in Ntotoro sub-county.
As soon as the rain rescinded, residents could be seen using plates and saucepans to scoop water out of their flooded houses.
Several roads were affected, leaving people with no choice but to wade through the water.
Robert Mpikiya, LC1 Kirumya East village, told the media they had appealed to the government for aid.
