“All categories of passports, immigration services such as work permits, dependant passes and certificates of residence will be affected,” he added.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that its offices at the headquarters will remain closed for two days.
A Monday evening circular from the ministry said while offices outside the headquarters will remain open, the main offices will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"This is due to some administrative procedures which will take place on those two days and will significantly affect service delivery," a statement signed by Jacob Siminyu, the ministry spokesman, said.
"Normal operations of the ministry headquarters will resume on Thursday, October 22," Siminyu added.
Siminyu told New Vision Tuesday morning that services to be affected include issuance of passports, work permits and citizenship among others.
"All categories of passports, immigration services such as work permits, dependant passes and certificates of residence will be affected," he added.
