15 candidates to battle for Kiboga parliamentary seats

In the newly created Kiboga West constituency, five candidates were nominated.

KIBOGA - The Electoral Commission has nominated to contest for Kiboga East, Kiboga West and Kiboga Woman MP.

Kaaya Christine Nakimweero of National Unity Platform (NUP), Aisha Nakimuli, an independent and the incumbent Ruth Nankabirwa of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), were nominated to battle for Kiboga district Woman Member of Parliament seat. 

The EC nominated five candidates for Kiboga East.

Jarilu Nyanja Ebika, Shaka Bakabulidi and Kituzi David were nominated as independents while Sirajje Kizito Nkuggwa and  Keefa Kiwanuka were nominated on NUP and NRM ticket respectively.

In the newly created Kiboga West constituency, five candidates were nominated. Josephine Namanda, Frank Gahafu Akisuuli, Kakooza Grace Nakyaanzi, and Joseph SSebina as independents while Muhamudu Kibuuka and Abdul Setuuba Mutumba on NUP and NRM tickets respectively.

Alex Komuhangi, the district Electoral Commission returning officer said aspirants were nominated without any incidents.

She said next week candidates are to have a campaign meeting to plan on how they will canvass for votes. 

Komuhangi reiterated the Electoral Commission's ban on mass political gatherings saying, they can't be complacent due to Covid-19.

Kiboga Resident District Commissioner, Doreen Keita said leaders should be exemplary and avoid flouting rules put in place. She advised candidates to utilise media platforms to curb the spread of COVID-9.
