POLITICS|NOMINATION
SERERE - Alice Alaso, the acting party President of Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), has been nominated to contest for the Serere woman MP seat that she previously represented before losing it to Hellen Adoa, the current state minister for fisheries.
"Serere has lacked leaders who represent people effectively, it's evident that our leaders are trailing from behind," Alaso said after nominating her.
She said that education standards have declined as compared to her tenure where Serere was competing well in Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).
Though the position has attracted four competitors, her main challenger is Adoa who trounced her in the 2016 elections.
Susan Akiror, an independent, became the third woman to be nominated for the position, and Agnes Asege the FDC candidate.
