Oct 13, 2020

Nabbumba, 52, strives to be excellent at whatever she does. She also hinges her ethics on the virtues of integrity, consistency, respect for all, love, and selflessness.

In 2004, hell broke loose on Rosetti Nabbumba when her husband, Robert Kalumula Nayenga died.

The blissful marriage was tragically ended by a motor accident. She was devastated and shattered but she refused to lounge on the dark side for long.

She found solace in joining the Rotary Club, where she has defied odds to became the first female District Governor of District 9211 in the 64 years that Rotary has been in Uganda. Rotary District 9211 covers Uganda and Tanzania.

Nabbumba, 52, strives to be excellent at whatever she does. She also hinges her ethics on the virtues of integrity, consistency, respect for all, love, and selflessness.

She leads over 8,000 people in Uganda and Tanzania. Nabbumba juggles this demanding office with her managerial job at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. She also serves as the first female head of Laity at the St. Phillips and Andrew's Cathedral Mukono.

And last year, she was elected first President from East Africa of the African Evaluation Association (AFREA) and is a board member of different organizations. The philanthropist is also making strides in farming and business.

How does she do it all? Find her story in the Her Vision section of the New Vision.
