Floods displace thousands of people in Ntoroko

According to the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS), the majority of the affected residents prefer to live near the lake because they do fishing.

NTOROKO - Floods have displaced thousands of people in Kanara sub-county, Ntoroko district.

According to the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS), the majority of the affected residents prefer to live near the lake because they do fishing.  

"Majority have sought refugee at Bwangara Health Centre III which is also being swallowed up by the swelling Lake Albert," Irene Nakasiita, URCS spokesperson, said in a statement on Thursday.

Earlier, URCS delivered an assortment of items to those affected by the floods.
