KAMPALA - For two weeks, readers of the New Vision will get the chance to nominate their favourite celebrity as the New Vision searches for Uganda's Top 100 Celebrities in 2020. Annuals lists of the world's top celebrities have been a feature since the first one was published in 1999 by Forbes Magazine.

The first Ugandan celebrity Top 100 was published in 2009 by the then City Beat magazine, and when it closed in 2011, the New Vision subsequently carried on the exercise. Seven Top 100 lists have since then been published in the last ten years, with the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Mutebi II, topping the first one.

You can vote for your favourite celebrity as many times as possible

The others have been dominated by comedian Anne Kansiime, who realised early on that social media will play a big part in the business of entertainment. She moved from being a seen-once-a-week-on-Thursdays comedian to a YouTube sensation.

So the search is on for this year's top celebrities, and all you have to do is go to The Beat Uganda Facebook page and write your nominations. You can also send nominations via email to thebeat@newvision.co.ug by September 25th, 2020. You can vote as many times as you want.
