Four family members killed in house fire

A three-year-old girl is among four family members that perished in a house that was set on fire in Akavu village, Madi Okollo district.

The Police have identified the deceased as; Santos Jakweyo, 53, Paska Adoch, 48, Santos Yohana, 5 and Patience Yikparwoth, 3.

A preliminary Police report seen by New Vision indicates that four family members perished when the house they were sleeping in was set ablaze by unknown assailants.

Homicide detectives have since linked the incident to a land wrangle among family members.

Before he met his death, Jakweyo left Wadelai in Pakwach district, where he had a misunderstanding with his brothers over land. 

Later in the night, his house was set on fire, according to the report.

The scene has since been visited by the Police and bodies taken for postmortem pending investigations.
