Stop stigmatizing victims of COVID-19 - Kasingye

“COVID-19 is real,” he said, adding: “Prevention starts with you. You should also avoid stigmatizing victims. Pray for them instead.”

Senior Police officer Asan Kasingye who went public after testing positive for COVID-19 has asked sections of the public to stop stigmatizing others for carrying the virus.
In a tweet, also advised Ugandans to strictly follow the directives set out by the Government if they are to survive the virus.
"COVID-19 is real," he said, adding: "Prevention starts with you. You should also avoid stigmatizing victims. Pray for them instead." 
"I am praying that no other Uganda ever becomes positive. Just wash your hands, wear a mask, social distance and follow all the other Ministry of Health guidelines," he said.
The Assistant Inspector of Police also said: "I am actually not worried about myself. I am worried about those who think COVID-19 is designed for specific people; politically."
Results of COVID-19 tests done on August 23 confirmed 99 new cases. This brings the cumulative total of confirmed cases to 2,362. Uganda has so far registered 22 COVID-19 deaths.
