“If you do not want to die, wear your mask well. Cover your nose and not the mouth only,” Aceng said.

The Minister of Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, has warned of a likely increase in COVID-19 deaths if people do not stick to the directives issued by the Government.

Aceng who was on Wednesday speaking during the launch of yellow fever vaccination in Moyo district said as more positive cases were being recorded, health workers were likely to become fatigued, hence more deaths.

"If you do not want to die, wear your mask well. Cover your nose and not the mouth only," Aceng said.

"If someone who is positive sneezes and you have not covered your nose, God bless you! You will get the virus," Aceng warned.

She said the country was recording more numbers of COVID-19 because the ministry was working day and night to remove the positive cases from the public.

By Tuesday, Uganda had registered 1,603 COVID-19 cases with 15 virus-related deaths.
