Govt starts distribution of elderly funds in Kampala

The Government through the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development has launched the distribution of the Elderly funds in the Five divisions of Kampala as one way to support their daily life.

 The Programme was launched from Nakawa Division and it targets over 5,000 beneficiaries around the City.

On launching the Programme, Stephen Kasaijja from the Ministry of Gender urged the Elderly persons from the Five divisions of Kampala to present themselves to their Local leaders with proper Identifications so as to benefit from the program.

 Meanwhile, Kasaijja says that as the Ministry they are lobbying for more funding from the Government to ensure that the programmes for the Elderly persons below the age of eighty are implemented.
