Bobi Wine calls for support from artists

Politics is too serious a business to be left for politicians, National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi, a.k.a Bobi Wine has told artists.

He rallied them for support and asked artists to join politics, saying there is even more politics in the arts industry than in parliament.

 Kyagulanyi  was unveiling about 100 artists and about 50 mayors and councilors who joined and picked NUP party cards at NUP offices in Kamwyokya, Kyagulanyi told artists that they have a powerful voice that can bring change in the country if they decide to use it.

"While they fight us with teargas and bullets, we are going to fight them with lyrics and jokes. We are going to sing them out of power. We are going to rap them out of power. We are going to joke them out of power." Kyagulanyi said.

With  four months left to elections, Kyagulanyi urged artists who fear politics to come on board.

"Politics is too serious a business to be left to politicians. Use your talent to save your jobs as an artist and also save our country so that we open a new chapters for the next generation to be proud of." he said.

He lauded them for supporting fellow artists. "I was arrested. you stood by me, otherwise I would be dead now." Kyagulanyi said, adding that the same support was given to other artists; Gerald Kiwewa and Bizonto recently.

Among the Artists who joined NUP included; Geofrey Lutaaya and his wife Irene Namatovu Lutaaya, Kiyaga Hillary a.ka Dr. Hilderman, Zigidi- eno mike ya zigidi, Dr. Bitone, Aziz Azion, Aga-Naga Mukiibi Sadat, Abbey Musinguzi a.k.a Abitex, Eddie Yawe, Bajjo events, Bobi Young, Mcee Kapale, Gerald Kiweewa etcetera.

Additionally, 50 councilors and mayors from DP, FDC and NRM joined Bobi Wine's NUP.
