Prosecution alleges that Omutojo unlawfully caused the death of Wafula by shooting in Nakasongola barracks.

KAMPALA - The General Court Martial has remanded Lance Corporal Max Omutojo who is accused of murdering Maj. Sulaiman Wafula.

Wafula was an officer-in-charge of the Uganda People's Defense Air Force garrison at the Nakasongola air force wing.

Court Martial chaired by Lt Gen Andrew Gutti remanded Omutojo to Makindye Military Police Barracks up to August 25, 2020, when he is set to appear again.

Prosecution team led by Capt Ambrose Baguma while reading the charges against Omutojo alleged that on May 3, 2020, Omutojo unlawfully caused the death of Wafula by shooting in Nakasongola barracks.

The state alleged that Wafula, a senior Air Force Garrison commander was shot dead on Sunday by Omutojo after he failed to grant him a short leave to attend to an urgent issue.

Baguma alleged that Wafula turned down his request prompting Omutojo to shoot him dead. He also injured a lieutenant who tried to arrest him.
