Kampala traders protest extra charges by landlord

According to traders, they have been asked to pay sh2,000 for the first two hours and sh1,000 for the rest of the hours.

Traders operating at Seroma Shoppers stop Plaza, have this morning staged a demonstration in protest of parking fees and rent.

Traders claims that before the old management was  stopped, "things used to be ok".

According to traders, they have been asked to pay sh2,000 for the first two hours and sh1,000 for the rest of the hours.

Bouncers and Police have now been deployed to man the security at the entrance of the  building and inside to block the rowdy traders from causing commotion at the premises.

"In our tenant agreement, there is nowhere we signed to pay for parking," said one of the traders who did not want to be named.
