The 22-year-old who was also linked with Vipers signed a three year deal with the club from Mbarara City.

Striker Brian Aheebwa has said he is ready for the challenge that awaits him at KCCA FC.

The 22-year-old who was also linked with Vipers signed a three year deal with the club from Mbarara City.

"When coach Mike Mutebi called me to join KCCA, I was really happy. I took this opportunity because I also want to achieve my goals," Aheebwa stated.

Aheebwa who has a good first touch and is good at passing will help improve Mutebi's offensive play.

"He has been brought in to score goals and he will start. If he performs well, he will maintain his position but he has to know that there is competition for places at KCCA. For him to remain in that position, he has to score goals," Mutebi said.

Aheebwa managed to 11goals in both the league (8) and Stanbic Uganda Cup (3) plus eight assists.

So his move to KCCA FC as a free agent should not come as surprise as he was one of the best players last season and was also summoned to the national team for African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals in Cameroon that was later postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.

Aheebwa becomes the sixth KCCA FC new signing in the transfer window. Other players who signed for the club are Bright Anukani, Ashraf Mugume, Charles Lwanga, Italian born Stephen Mazengo Loro, and utility player Denis Iguma.

Andrew Samson Kigozi and Pius Obuya from Police and Maroons have also agreed to join KCCA although they yet to be confirmed by the club.

With KCCA scheduled to compete on four fronts namely the CAF Confederation Cup, Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup, and FUFA Super 8  next season.
