Four prime suspects arrested in connections with the murder of Mzuri bar and guest house manager in Tororo town on Monday afternoon have confessed to have participated in the crime.

Irene Kabahaiso 28, was strangled during the afternoon downpour and several television sets stolen by her killers. The suspects were arrested in Kisenyi a Kampala Surburb selling the stolen televisions.

The murder is suspected to have been orchestrated by David Twahirwa 23, an assistant manager in same guest house together with his cousin Remos Malisa who both hail from Mubende district in a well-planned mission following a series of coordination meetings held at national water and sewerage cooperation lagoons along Mbale road.

They took advantage of the lockdown to attack their victim who was alone at the time since both the bar and lodging business closed in March something that hardened their cost of living due to lack of daily earning.

They then requested the services of Patrick Oyuk 26 years a resident of Amagoro ‘A' north village and Ronald Olowo 18 years of Bison ‘A' village both in Tororo municipality planned never to kill but conduct the daring afternoon heist after being promised money once the deal is done.

Twahirwa who was coordinating the mission on phone and giving his accomplices clear directions and locations of the Television rooms said he had only instructed the team not to kill but to tie Kabahaiso Kandoya to prevent her from making an alarm.

Olowo said he and Oyuk grabbed Kabahaiso where he participated in tying her legs while Oyuk tied her hands.

Olowo who operates a grinding mill said he then left Oyuk with the victim in her room and went to steal the Television together with Mulisa but they were shocked to hear that Oyuk had strangled Kabahaiso.

Oyuk, who looked drunk under the influence of drugs, confessed to having tied Kabahaiso under the bed but he couldn't recall the circumstance under which she died.

Both Mulisa and Twahirwa then boarded boda boda motorcycles up to Mbale from where they picked a taxi that transported to Kampala. In the process one Television dropped down and was picked by neighbors.

The district police commander Rogers Chebene said following the arrest of Mulisa and Twahirwa, he confessed to have done the mission together with the Oyuk and Olowo who were left in Tororo.

He said seven televisions were recovered from Kampala plus one that dropped in Tororo as they were fleeing. He said investigations into the matter are complete and the suspects are going to arraigned in court to face murder charges.
