Museveni, First Lady attend scientific wedding

Jul 13, 2020

According to the President, the wedding was attended by 14 people

President Yoweri Museveni has again backed scientific wedding, insisting that what is important at any such event are the legal and spiritual elements.

In a tweet, the President said: "Mama Janet Museveni and I attended the "scientific" wedding of my cousin, Phiona Akoragye, and her husband, Herbert Kihanda, in Entebbe on Saturday."

"Phiona's father, the late Mzee Eriya Riisi, was a brother to my father, Late Mzee Amos Kaguta. Herbert is a son of late Cosmas Mbagaya and Edida Katendwa Kasharu."

He added: "I thank Archbishop Steven Kazimba for presiding over this function that had a total of 14 guests. Like I have said previously, what is important about a marriage ceremony are the legal and spiritual elements, not the social fanfare. I wish the couple a blissful marriage."

Below are some photos from the event.
