Museveni meets Oyo over monarchs summit

The meeting took place on Thursday at State House Entebbe. King Oyo was accompanied by his mother, Queen Best Kemigisa.

President Yoweri Museveni has held discussions with the king of Toro kingdom, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, on a number of issues and matters of national importance.

The meeting took place on Thursday at State House Entebbe. King Oyo was accompanied by his mother, Queen Best Kemigisa.

Oyo briefed the President about the World Monarchs Summit that was slated for September this year but later postponed due COVID-19.

Toro was slated to host the first ever World Monarchs Summit from September 7-11 under the theme: Monarchs for sustainable Peace and Inclusive Development.

The aim of the summit was to build consensus and collective response by the world's monarchs to discuss and work together towards achieving sustainable peace and inclusive development.
