Kampala city trekkers blocked

The officers would not allow anybody to continue with their trek unless they produced valid documents that justified their inevitable presence in the city.

Movement to the Kampala City Centre was not as free as usual for those people who wanted to use the Wandegeya-Nakasero access roads on Monday.


The Police blocked several people at a roadblock at the junction near the headquarters of Public Service and the Ministry of Health.

Justine Akello, one of the people who were turned back shade tears as she cursed the Covid-19 pandemic. "I don't know when we shall get rid of this problem of coronavirus. It has made our life very difficult. It is as if we are prisoners in our own country. God save us."

John Mutebi also lamented: "The suffering we are going through is greater than that we went through during the guerrilla war of the 1980s. We just pray that we overcome this problem as soon as possible."
