State Minister of Finance for Investment and privatization, Evelyn Anite, has cautioned the public against wearing face masks with political colors and symbols, as well as black masks.

During a meeting with manufacturers at the Uganda Manufacturers Association grounds, the minister cautioned manufacturers on producing political colored masks, re-echoing President Kaguta Museveni's words that the battle against COVID-19 is not a political one, but a national issue.

She warned that if manufacturers produce yellow masks, the government will not buy them.

"If you are producing face masks and have capital challenges, go to the Uganda Development Bank," Anite told face masks manufacturers, in a meeting at UMA shows ground on Wednesday morning.

In the same meeting, Dr. Medard Bitekyerezo, chairman National Drug Authority (NDA), lashed out on scribes who entered the meeting without masks.
