KAMPALA - The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has hailed the relationship between Uganda and Rwanda, saying it is beyond "normal state-to-state relations".

In a tweet on Thursday, Muhoozi said no one can break the historical bond between the two countries.

"The relationship between Uganda and Rwanda is beyond normal state to state relations. We are one family!" Muhoozi tweeted.

"No one can break the historical bonds because they are from Almighty God! We shall always be brothers and sisters," he added.

Muhoozi who is also First Son, said Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni and his counterpart of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, will repair the relationship between the two countries.

"Our two great leaders shall repair the relationship," he said.

Last month, Muhoozi also tweeted about the relationship between the two countries, saying Rwanda and Uganda "have come from very far".

"Brothers/Comrades and Revolutionaries can quarrel but they should never fight. We have come from very far," Muhoozi tweeted.

This was in reference to the standoff between the two countries that started early last year.
