INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Sunday was International Women's Day. New Vision has been sharing stories of different women telling us their struggles and how they have turned their life around. Today, we celebrate Esther Kalenzi.

She could have been a journalist or a marketing executive, but when time came for Esther Kalenzi to pursue her calling, she chose to help the helpless.
She quit gainful employment to establish 40 Days Over 40 Smiles Foundation (40-40), a Kampala-based independent youth-led charity organisation. It supports vulnerable children to access quality all-round education, while also providing entrepreneurial training.
As we conclude our Women's Day podcast series, we shine a light on the life and vision of a young woman, whose passion for helping the needy has changed the lives of over 200 Ugandan children and empowered several young people in the country.
So what is the story of 40 Days Over 40 Smiles?
"I love to tell the 40-40 story during Lent because this is where it all began, and it is very very dear to me," says Kalenzi.
