Magyezi given hero's welcome as Kamukama sworn in

KAMPALA - Newly appointed minister for Local Government Raphael Magyezi was on Wednesday treated to a hero's welcome to the Parliament chambers as he took his seat at the front bench for the first time, following his appointment by President Yoweri Museveni.

Magyezi, the Igara West MP, is known for introducing a private members' Bill for amendment of the constitution, to lift the presidential age limit.

 
Donning a black fitting suit matched with a white tie and yellow shirt, Magyezi strutted to the front to take his seat at the front bench where cabinet ministers seat, amidst applause from legislators across the House.

"Order, Order why has the minister excited everybody, order," Rebecca Kadaga, the speaker of Parliament said as she calmed down the MPs.

 
Meanwhile, newly appointed minister for economic monitoring, Molly Kamukama was sworn in as an Ex-official, Parliament of Uganda. After her swearing-in, Kamukama who is set to stand as Kazo district woman MP in 2021, was given a copy of the constitution and rules of procedures of Parliament, by speaker Kadaga.

Kamukama was appointed last month, following a cabinet reshuffle by President Yoweri Museveni.
