The year has indeed started quite well on a personal note for Okello who was on Monday voted the USPA Nile Special Volleyball player of the year 2019.
Okello follows a British basketball player Jamell Anderson who landed the shot of his career when he popped the question on the court at the Commonwealth Games in April 2018.
Anderson asked fellow England basketball player Georgia Jones to marry him just moments after the men's team beat Cameroon 81-54.
Maryland Terrapins basketball player Ivan Bender also proposed during a Senior Night ceremony Andrea Knezevic on court.
With his girlfriend mid court, Bender approached her, waved to the crowd, then got down on one knee and proposed to the delight of fans and players in March 2019.
