The 2019-20 second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League gets underway today with the usual contenders among the title favorites.

Vipers that were runners-up last season have the best odds to finish top while KCCA, the reigning champs are still huge favorites to retain the title.

The Venoms who had a remarkable first-round losing only once against KCCA in the 15 matches they played, will need to maintain their momentum if they are to win the league more so that they start the second round four points (36 points) ahead of second-placed KCCA.

Whereas KCCA are still struggling to retain key players Allan Okello and Mustafa Kizza who have declined to renew their contracts, Vipers beefed up their squad with winger Paul Mucureezi.

Yes, most odds might consider Vipers as ‘champions' in waiting but you can't write off KCCA who have three titles in last four seasons despite the fact that they are in a dilemma to lose their cream.

As Vipers and KCCA battle for the title, BUL, SC Villa, Onduparka, URA and Wakiso Giants will vie for the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively while Proline, Bright Stars and Police have a lot to do if they to survive relegation.

And this will be reflected as URA take on SC Villa at the Arena of Visions at Ndejje University.
This will be URA FC's first game in Ndejje ever since they decided to leave their home venue at Namboole due to the non-avoidable circumstances.

Elsewhere, Tooro United, who struggled to finish off the first round due to different challenges, will host Onduparaka in Fort Portal.
