Kasozi still Uganda's hope in Safari tour

The top two non-Kenyans from the tour will get entry into the Kenya Open while there are eight slots for the Kenyan nationals.

Uganda's Phillip Kasozi remains on course to grab one of two slots for non-Kenyans that will compete in next year's Magical Kenya Open.

Having made the cut in the Palm Golding Safari Tour Open, and finishing tenth at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa on Saturday, Kasozi added another 29 points to extend his tally to 125.5 points after the first five Safari Tour events thus far.

He is closely followed by Zimbabwe's Robson Chinhoi on 78 points, amassed from the Entebbe and Palm Golding tour events.

Nigeria's Andrew Oche who picked 55 points from the Uganda Open is in third while Abraham Ainamani is in fourth on 40 points, also picked from the Uganda Open.

The other Safari Tour players; Silver Opio, Opio Onito Jr, Deo Akope, Brian Toolit and Becca Mwanja are on 35, 33, 31.5, 11.5 and 10 points respectively while Abbey Bagalana and Denis Anguyo have featured in some tour events but have not accumulated any points.

Kenya's Dismas Indiza who won the Pam Golding tour at Serena currently leads the Kenyan cast on 240.6 points, 35.1 ahead of Erick Ooko and Greg Snow who are second and third ob 205.6 and 197 points respectively.

The Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa is a European Tour event with a prize fund of sh4b and attracts the top professionals from around the world.

Italy's Guido Migliozzi claimed this year's title after shooting 268 gross over the four rounds. The 22-year-old pocketed €183,330 (sh600m).
