Nuwagira beats 124 to the Entebbe September Mug of Mugs

Playing off handicap 12, Nuwagira who lost out on last quarters’ mug win by a stroke beat 124 golfers to the top mug, with one quarters’ action left before the Grand Mug of Mugs tournament.
Collins Nuwagira carded 67nett to win the Entebbe Club September Mug of Mugs golf tournament played at Entebbe Club on Saturday.
Playing off handicap 12, Nuwagira who lost out on last quarters' mug win by a stroke beat 124 golfers to the top mug, with one quarters' action left before the Grand Mug of Mugs tournament.
Andrew Baguma who was edged to the top position in Group-A, last time out by Patrick Mugisha, also made amends, this time topping the group and beating Jude Ochieng and Isaac Mariera by two and four strokes respectively.
Charles Kabunga who was 12th on the overall standings going into Saturday's action, topped Group B, edging Elly Mukasa and Patrick Mugisha Muntu by one and two strokes respectively while Paul Kalemba, Alfred Kabuchu and Leonard Bagarukayo where the top players in Group C.
In the ladies category, Rita Akot Apell strengthened her quest for the overall mug, despite finishing second behind Bridget Basiima in the ladies Group A were Akot leads the overall standings.
Palm Valley's Samson Agamire and Uganda Golf Club's Bridget Nakamoga took the guest winners' mugs while M.Z Kitta was the seniors' category winner with 76nett.
Saturday's tournament was headlined by ABSA with Premier Relationship Manager Brenda Mutesi and Sarah Nakato, Head Affluent Banking presiding over the prize ceremony.
