EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO PROVIDE AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY HIRE SERVICES TO DRDIP AND NUSAF3 PROJECTS BENEFICIARY COMMUNITIES

BACKGROUND

Government of Uganda acquired US$ 130 million credit from the World Bank (IDA) through the Offi ce of the Prime Minister (OPM) to implement the Third Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF3) Project from March 2016 to March 2021 in 66 districts in Lango, West Nile, Bukedi, Teso, Acholi, Karamoja, Elgon and part of Bunyoro sub regions. Government also acquired US $ 200 million for the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP) being implemented in 13 refugee hosting districts in Uganda. Both DRDIP and NUSAF3 Projects involve provision of grants for communities to invest in productive ventures that increase their income earnings and improve livelihoods at household level. To date, a total of 368,660 people from 69,132 poor households were organized into 4,476 community interest groups and have benefi ted from the grants provided under the NUSAF3 Project, while a total of 174 infrastructure investments were funded and now benefiting up to 1,406,838 persons comprising both refugees (43%) and nationals (53%). CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON THIS NOTICE
