Musa to lead Bombers to All Africa Games

The East African champion will head a team of six men and two women to the August 18-31 event in the Moroccan city of Rabat.

 
Welterweight Shadir Musa will captain Uganda's boxing team, the Bombers, to the All Africa Games.

Full team-Men: L/fly-Champion Businge, bantam-Isaac Masembe, L/weight-Joshua Tukamuhebwa, welter-Shadir Musa, middleweight David Ssemujju and s/heavy- Solomon Geko, coach-
Muhammed Mulandi Hassan. Women - bantam- Jalia Nali,middleweight- Hellen Baleke. Coach- Mercy Mukankusi.
 
Announcing the team on Monday, Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi was bitter at government's failure to send a full team.
 
"This is not fair, more so when boxing is one of the country's top medal-winning disciplines. To make it even worse the National Council of Sports could not even allow us to fund the travel of more boxers," complained Muhangi.
 
The first batch of Team Uganda departs this weekend.
 
The full team comprising of a contingent of 105 sportsmen will be officially be released by NCS tomorrow.
 
Uganda will be represented by athletics, boxing, badminton, handball, tennis, table tennis, 3x3 basketball, chess, weightlifting, swimming, and cycling.
