BUNDIBUGYO- Four people died on spot and several others got injured after a trailer collided with two motorcycles, before plunging into a valley along the Bundibugyo-Nyahuka Road in Bundibugyo district.

The driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle at Bugombwa hill in Busaru sub-county, leading to the Thursday crash.

The timber-laden vehicle was coming from neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo. Four people died on spot, according to Benon Habarulema, the officer in charge of traffic in Bundibugyo.

But the victims were yet to be identified by late Thursday.

It is understood that the driver and other five survivors of the crash are admitted at Bundibugyo General Hospital in critical condition.

The actual cause of the accident is not known, but Police suggests that it was likely from a brake failure.

Initial reports indicate that the trailer had eight occupants on board - three Ugandans and five Congolese.
