CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO CONDUCT CAPACITY BUILDING AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES IN GIS FOR SELECTED STAKEHOLDERS, DEVELOP AND TEST GIS DATABASES UNDER FIEFOC 2 PROJECT
The Government of Uganda, has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Farm Income Enhancement and Forest Conservation Programme -Project-2 (FIEFOC-2), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount of this loan to payments under the contract for provision of consultancy services to conduct Capacity Building and Training Activities in GIS for selected stakeholders, develop and test GIS databases under FIEFOC 2 project.
The overall objective of the assignment is to, support the project on all matters related to GIS including training of identified users. The Consultant will generate user friendly maps, which will provide visual information about the attainment of both the project outcomes that include restoration and rehabilitation of degraded catchments of the 5 irrigation schemes through reporting on the acreage restored and the forest sector outcomes that include restoration of degraded forest lands and contribute to the reversal of forested lands to 24% of Uganda's land area by 2040 as provided by the Vision 2040.
