Coach Edward Golola kicked off his reign as Vipers Sports Club coach on a high note following their 1-0 win against Uganda Cup holders Proline FC in the second edition of the Pilsner Super 8 competition Wednesday at Startimes stadium, Lugogo.
New signing Denis Mwemezi gave the Kitende based team the lead in the 24th minute.
Golola was impressed with the performance of his charges and more so the new boy Mwemezi.
"He is a good player, and if continues playing like that, he is going to be one of the best strikers in the country," he said.

Shafiq Bisaso, on the other hand, believes there is still work to do especially in the final third.
"We still have time to improve", he said, adding that Wednesday's game is going to help him prepare his team for the Confederations Cup due to start next week.
Debutant Abdul Karim Watambala who was voted man of the match attributes his excellent performance to the experience and confidence from Copa Coca Cola games.
"I think I was confident, I have played many games in the Copa Coca Cola that's where I got the confidence from", stated the young midfielder who is also A student at St Mary's SS, Kitende.
Vipers Sports Club will play either Mbarara City or URA in the semifinals. Mbarara City and URA faceoff this Friday at Kakyeka stadium.
The Super 8 is competition comprises of the top six teams from the league and two teams that were promoted directly to the top-tier from FUFA Big League. These include; KCCA, Vipers, URA, Tooro United Mbarara City,Onduparaka, Proline, and Wakiso Giants.
This year's prize money has been doubled from sh30m last season to sh68m with the winning team receiving sh20m, runners up sh12m,third-placed team sh10m and fourth sh8m. The fifth to eight teams will receive sh5m,sh4m, and sh3m respectively.
