What you must know about landscaping

Inviting a professional landscape designer on site will help take you through the different stages of design and demystify the unknown.

How much does it cost?
This is the most common question most people ask.
It's not a bad question at all. It is important to know the financial requirement of any undertaking before you commit to it.

However, a number of factors influence the required investment for a landscaping undertaking. Asking a landscaper about the cost before a site visit may give you a very biased value. What determines the cost of the landscaping?

How big is the area you want to turn into a garden? The size of your available garden space is the first consideration and it influences the garden layout.

Is the area paved, levelled, fertile, or does it need flower box building and walkways? The climate of the area is another consideration. Planting non-drought resistant plants in a dominantly dry region is a wasted investment. When the plants fail to withstand the climate, they will wither and dry up. If you are in a tropical region, you can build a rich luxuriant garden.

Make time to invite a professional landscape designer to your site for an initial visit. Just the same way you had to draw up a house plan, this is the right way to go.

Plan together in the garden design layouts and agree on the style to implement. This visit stimulates the creativity of the designer to give you a fine piece of work. It also allows you to understand the quality of work you should expect.

Then a quotation can be shared. When the process is reversed and you ask for a quotation before a site visit, the designer begins to work with a limited perspective to fit in the cost range.

Inviting a professional landscape designer on site will help take you through the different stages of design and demystify the unknown.
