Proline adds four new signings to CECAFA Kagame Cup squad

Proline FC has added its new signings to its squad ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup that gets underway this Saturday in Rwanda.

These are Bernard Muwanga on loan from KCCA, Yusuf Mukisa from SC Villa, Andrew Isiagi Okiring and goalkeeper Shatif Magoola who have joined to beef up the squad.

A contingent of 29 people that includes 21 players will travel to Rwanda by road on Wednesday ahead of their opening game against Rwandan giants APR on Saturday in Group C before facing Heegan (Burundi) and Green Eagles (Zambia) on July 8th and 11th respectively. 

Proline who are taking part in the competition for the first time will be joined by KCCA FC as Uganda‘s representatives.

Both sides will use the competition as build up for the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.

The winner of the annual tournament will walk home with $30,000 (sh112m) in prize money while the runners and third-best team receive $20,000 (sh74.9m) and $10,000 (sh37m).

Azam FC are the defending champions having defeated Simba 2-1 last year in the final.

CECAFA Kagame Cup is the oldest club competition on the continent which brings together teams from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
