The community cup will return in July with a third round

Naguru were unstoppable for the second time in the KAVC Community Cup at Lugogo on Sunday as they claimed another win, this time against Volleyball Kampala.

The Kampala suburb side, collected 12 points from the 4 matches played to top the women's log with 21 points from 2 outings.

As usual, Nkumba University defensive stalwart Flavia Nandawula was inspirational as her side made it two wins out of two.

This week, Express FC also joined in on the fun by fielding a team in the second circuit where they took a set off the table leaders Nakawa.

"We are very excited to have played volleyball at the home of KAVC, Uganda's oldest volleyball club. The Brand Express FC founded in 1957 is still the biggest brand of football in Uganda and today we are here to celebrate that friendship with Volleyball. Some of our fans are big-time volleyballers and we are glad to be celebrating the spirit of Kampala with the community" said Hamza Junjju the Express Football Club CEO.

The men's finals between Nakawa and Lugogo could not be completed due to a downpour when the match was at 3-2.

The community cup will return in July with a third round but for now, all attention turns to the Genocide Tournament in Rwanda.
