Seven African heads of state are expected to attend the summit

The Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, is in Mozambique for the four-day US-Africa Business Summit in Maputo, Mozambique, representing President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Summit will bring together more than 1,000 US and African private sector executives, international investors, senior government officials and multilateral stakeholders.

The Summit serves as a platform for US and African business and government leaders to explore new business opportunities and meet potential business partners.

Seven African heads of state are expected to attend the summit scheduled for 18-21 June.

On Monday, Rugunda held talks with Mozambique's former leader Joaquim Chissano who he visited at his residence in Maputo.

"We had a productive and constructive conversation with this great African statesman," Rugunda remarked in a post on his official Twitter handle.

Last week, Rugunda represented Museveni at Nigeria's Democracy Day celebrations held in Abuja on 12th June.
