MURDER  BAIL        COURT

The International Crimes Division of the High Court has granted a sh20m non-cash bail to former acting Tabliq leader Sheikh Yahaya Mwanje accused of murdering Maj. Muhammad Kiggundu.

While releasing him the High Court judge Duncan Gaswaga  this morning ruled that his continued incarceration without trial infringes on his right to a fair and speedy trial.

On  November 26, 2016, Kiggundu was murdered in cold blood at Masanafu trading centre together with his bodyguard Sgt. Steven Mukasa.

The judge has cautioned Mwanje against rhetoric preaching, noting that it will lead to cancellation of his bail.

Mwanje is battling the charges together with eight others who have since been released on bail.
