The executive imam of Kibuli Mosque, Sheikh Abdusalam Mutyaba has advised the Muslim community to uphold their faith beyond the month of Ramadan, and exhibit the love of God.

He said during Ramadan, the number of people attending prayers increases significantly, but soon after it drops considerably.

The cleric said good works should not only be displayed during Ramadan because reaching Jannah requires continuous faith, good deeds, truth, and patience.

"I, therefore, encourage all Muslims across the country to continue exhibiting those virtues even after the Ramadan, at work and home," he said while receiving items donated by Liquid telecom to help during Iftar, at the Kibuli Mosque.

He said the holy month of Ramadan is not only for fasting but also for sharing and appealed to Muslims to be more charitable.

During the event, the telecom firm handed over items which included foodstuffs and gifts to the Muslims in celebration of Ramadan

The liquid telecom Chief Executive Officer, Denis Kahinda said the Ramadan days are special because they are days of prayer, meditation, and reflection on Allah.

He said the Muslim community has made exemplary contributions to the telecom's success over the years, by always putting the company values at the forefront.

"We have a huge customer base as well as the staff who are Muslims, and their contribution is commendable. It's therefore imperative to note that Islam faith is one of the pillars that keep our firm steady in Uganda," Kahindi said.

He further said the company would offer fixed internet connectivity to religious establishments including Mosques and Churches in the medium term.

He, however, asked the government to subsidize internet services in the country to bring down costs as communication and business increasingly becomes digital.
