Express FC returned to winning ways after defeating Kirinya Jinja SS 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Wankulukuku Stadium.

Brian Umony opened the scoring for Express in the 29th minute before Jerome Kirya levelled matters for the visitors in the 58th minute.

A minute later Arthur Kiggundu put Express in the lead to snap the Red Eagles out of a two-game winless streak as they seek to finish in the top eight with two rounds to end the season.

It was also only Express' second league victory at home ever since coach George Ssimwogerere took over the reins at the club.

The victory took them to 11th place on 36 points, three behind eighth-placed Kirinya.

Elsewhere, URA played to a goalless draw with Mbarara City at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole while BUL went down 2-1 to Bright Stars at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

Nelson Ssenkatuka and Fred Ssegujja scored for Bright Stars while Villa Oromchan struck a consolation goal for the home side.

In the West Nile derby, already relegated side Paidha Black Angels drew 1-1 with Onduparaka at Bar Okoro Stadium in Zombo.

Caesar Okhuti gave the visitors the lead in the 41st minute before Dickens Okwir equalised for Paidha in the 71st minute.
