Three weeks ago, the Speaker of Parliament was rushed to Nakasero Hospital in critical condition soon after returning from international engagements

Speaker of Parliament and Kamuli Woman MP, Rebecca Kadaga has broken her silence on the kerfuffle surrounding her health saying she is in much better shape right now and rearing to resume her duties ounce discharged from Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

In a statement released earlier today, Kadaga also pushed back against allegations that she is in intensive care in a Spanish hospital saying such stories are the products of unprofessional journalists.

Three weeks ago, Kadaga was rushed to Nakasero Hospital in critical condition soon after returning from international engagements in Rabat, Morocco and New York over what her press secretary, Sam Obbo described as "fatigue and jetlag."

Kadaga was later airlifted to Aga Khana Hospital shortly after President Museveni visited her at Nakasero Hospital.

However, the social media platform and a section of the media have of late been awash with talk of Kadaga struggling for her life in a Spanish Hospital.

"I would like to assure the country that I am still at Aga Khan Hospital and hope to be discharged soon. I look forward to better health and to serving Ugandans ounce again," Kadaga's statement reads in part.

Kadaga also read her statement in audio clips that are currently making the rounds on social media platforms.

The development will help allay fears about her health especially in her native Busoga region whose diocese has held a number of prayers for her quick recovery.
