Kiplimo was voted USPA’s best for the month of January during the USPA montly assembly

Winning the IAAF Cross -Country permit in Seville Spain last month, earned athlete Jacob Kiplimo his second consecutive Nile Special -Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) sports personally of the month.

Kiplimo was voted USPA's best for the month of January during the USPA montly assembly at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala for winning the 10km San Silvestre Vallecana road race in Spain on New Year's Eve.

The 18-year-old Kiplimo collected 385 points to defeat chess stars Mariam Nakanyike (345pts) and Penina Nakabo (260 pts).

"He has been consistent winning three events in one month and that is the reason members voted for him. The other two chess ladies also performed well but Kiplimo had an edge over the two," USPA president Patrick Kanyomozi said.

Motocross riders Gift Ssebuguzi was commended for winning the first round of the national motocross championship in the 65cc category, and golfer Ibrahim Bagalana was commended for winning the Singleton Golf Challenge qualifier.

Meanwhile, at the same assembly, the executive honoured USPA founder chairman Fred Ssekito with a new USPA branded shirt and calendar.

"We appreciate your contribution to this association and we are honoured to present this token of appreciation to you," Kanyomozi noted as he handed over the shirt to Ssekito.

Ssekito lauded the new executive for the innovation and also challenged members to join the USPA SACCO and save for the future investment.
