Rukungiri businessman, God Kyamugundu, 34, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen at Kyemengo at the border of Rukungiri Municipality and Buhunga sub-county in Rukungiri district.
Kyamugundu was heading to his coffee factory in Karisizo trading centre in Buhunga sub-county.

Maate said Kyamugundu was on boda boda with another person who is not yet identified and found the road closed with stones and logs, prompting the cyclist to stop. The assailants came out of the nearby bush, grabbed God Kyamugunda and killed him.
They reportedly ordered the cyclist to ride back to where he was coming from, plus another passenger he had come with, according to Maate.

One of his business friends said he could have been killed by people he works with.
"In the coffee business, you can give somebody up to sh100m to buy coffee for you without any written document. Such a person can plan for your death and he takes the money," he said.
